In today’s news, European Union continues assisting Syrian refugees, Niger receives funding to enhance education, United States to develop green energy from ocean, innovative energy storage technology introduced in Sweden, skilled costume creator makes medical gowns amid pandemic in United Kingdom, veggie meat options in restaurants growing in China, and more Australians welcome animal companions during COVID-19 lockdown.

European Union strengthens support for Syrian refugees in Iraq.

Jordan and Lebanon. For additional assistance during the COVID-19 outbreak, the EU has agreed to provide an almost €240 million aid package to assist vulnerable people in the area and help hosting countries through the EU Regional Trust Fund in Response to the Syrian Crisis. Of the total amount, €168 million will be given to Lebanon to enhance host communities and refugees’ resilience, improve access to education, and develop protective services for women and children. Furthermore, €60.5 million will be allocated to Jordan for education, health and women’s empowerment, while €10 million is for western Nineveh in Iraq to improve the lives of vulnerable returnees and help in peace efforts. Since 2015, the EU has contributed more than €2 billion to the Syrian crisis. The European Union is a Shining World Leadership Award for Peace recipient, and a Shining World Leadership Awards for Compassion, Unconditional World Care, and True Caring laureate. Our heartfelt appreciation, European Union! May all refugees and host communities receive the support they need to greet bright tomorrows, in Heaven’s brilliance.

World Bank funds education program in Niger.

The World Bank has approved a US$120 million grant and a US$20 million credit from the International Development Association for the Niger Learning Improvement for Results in Education (LIRE) Project. It will focus on enhancing teaching practices and learning, especially for girls, as well as monitoring education results to better manage the schooling system, particularly in regions of the country that require further assistance. LIRE will also develop digital learning services to help with areas including teacher training, creating a national education system, keeping children at school, or helping them return to studying during the COVID-19 situation. The program is designed to support both refugees and their host communities. Kudos, World Bank, International Development Association and Niger, for your caring project. May the children of your nation grow into healthy and strong citizens, filled with love, compassion and selfless dedication to building a peace-filled world, in Allah’s glory.

Up next, United States to develop green energy from ocean. We thank the motorcycle mechanics for servicing motorcycles and scooters, making sure they are running smoothly on the road. Please stay for more benefiting news on Supreme Master Television.

Good day, lively viewers, it’s Luti the Fruit Bat, and I love being an amiable vegan! I’ve got an indoor-gardening tip for you. Follow these few steps to ensure your houseplant has a longer lifespan. Check to see if the container holding your plant has an opening at the bottom to allow for water drainage to prevent your plant from having excess water. If there isn’t one, you can easily create one or more holes yourself. Also, wilting leaves do not necessarily mean your plant needs more water. Simply checking the pot’s weight can help you determine whether or not your plant needs more water. If it’s heavy, the plant is too wet and if it’s light, the plant may be too dry. Lastly, inspect the soil - if it’s over-soaked or has a distinct smell, it needs to be replaced. Love you for Being Veg and Going Green 2 Save the Planet for all of us humans and all co-inhabitants alike. Thank you for watching, and here’s the weather around the world!

United States, a Shining World Leadership Award for Compassion laureate, invests in renewable ocean energy.

The United States Department of Energy’s Water Power Technologies Office has announced US$22 million in funding for non-federal institutions to advance the foundations of research and development of renewable marine energy. The results of the research will be made available to relevant firms and industries in the US to help them develop their technology in the field. One of the key areas that the project will cover is the establishment of an Atlantic Marine Energy Center. What a grand initiative, United States Department of Energy, to bring together your brightest engineers and scientists to collaborate on renewable energy from the ocean. We pray they find much success, guided by the Providence, and open up another green energy industry in your nation.

Swedish company creates earth-friendly thermal storage technology.

Green energy startup, Azelio, has developed a new kind of system that stores energy produced by wind or solar power as heat in the device’s molten aluminum core. To convert the heat back to electricity, the heat is pumped from the aluminum into a Stirling (or heat) engine, which then generates power. Unlike conventional batteries, the thermal storing device does not require any rare earth minerals, is more cost-effective, and can potentially provide a solution to the world’s energy storage. Bravo Azelio! Such wonderful news on your invention of a power storage unit that can be made from readily available materials. May your technology quickly roll out across the globe as we move into a green energy future, in Heaven’s delight.

United Kingdom renowned seamstress launches initiative to sew scrubs for healthcare professionals.

Dulcie Scott, Emmy nominated costume designer for popular British TV series, Downton Abbey, initiated the “Helping Dress Medics” project to make protective garments worn by medical staff in operating rooms for those on the frontlines of the pandemic. Ms. Scott, along with 150 costume makers, are working from home to make over 6,000 sets of scrubs for formerly retired medical staff who have returned to vital jobs. To support the endeavor, a curtain maker donated cloth while factories currently shut-down assisted by cutting the fabric. Furthermore, a fundraiser on GoFundMe netted over US$106,000 for the cause. Many thanks, Dulcie Scott and all involved in “Helping Dress Medics.” We also express our gratitude and admiration of the courageous healthcare workers. May all be protected and blessed during this challenging time, in the Divine’s sheltering embrace.

Up next on Noteworthy News, veggie meat options in restaurants growing in China. We are going to pause for a moment to be grateful for the simple pleasures in life. We’ll return with more beautiful news on Supreme Master Television. Welcome back to Noteworthy News – Refreshing News for a Revitalizing World.

Restaurant chains in China put plant-based items on the menu.

Six prominent restaurant chains began offering dishes featuring a vegetarian ground meat created by the Chinese food tech company, Starfield Food and Science Technology. Diners can now enjoy the plant-based Black Pepper Meatball Pizza at Papa John’s, stuffed rice noodle rolls at Hong Li Village, and burgers at Brut Eatery, Gaga Chef and Element Fresh, all inclusive of the ground veg meat made mainly from seaweed protein. Our compliments, Starfield Food and Science Technology and all participating eateries! You are bringing compassionate food options to your customers as humans move towards the harmonious vegan lifestyle, in Heaven’s grace.

More Australians welcome animal companions during COVID-19 lockdown.

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) in New South Wales, reported that shelters across the state saw an almost 300% increase in adoptions and fosters with 550 animals finding homes in only ten days. According to Steve Coleman, CEO of RSPCA New South Wales, many people that foster end up keeping the animal friend because they’ve fallen in love with her or him. Mr. Coleman said, “Animals in our view are an essential component in people’s mental health.” Furthermore, Greyhound Rescue President Natalie Panzarino reported double the number of adoptions than usual. While describing greyhounds as great companions, she cautioned, “A pet is for life, not just during isolation.” Congratulations, all who are welcoming loving and comforting animal companions into their homes. May we always honor the lives and delicate feelings of our well-wishing co-inhabitants, in God’s mercy.

Now, it’s time for some laughter with the joke of the day entitled “Dream House.”

We had built our dream house some years ago, and furnished it with quality pieces as we could afford them. Now the delivery truck carrying the last purchase, a new bedroom suite, was pulling in to the driveway.

“Finally!” I exclaimed, flinging open the front door as the driver walked up to the house. “I’ve been waiting 12 years for this!”

“I am not to blame, lady. I just got the order this morning.”
