Animal Aid is a benevolent organization that has been advocating on behalf of animal-people for over four decades. Through a comprehensive set of campaigns, they strive peacefully to stop the cruel practices of animal-people factories, vivisection, animal-people experimentation, hunting, and horse-people racing. An essential part of Animal Aid’s mission is the vegan lifestyle, which the organization supports with education and an annual vegan challenge, to help people transition to the pure plant-based lifestyle. Through these and other efforts, they hope to help create change, as humans understand that animal-people are sentient beings whose rights should be respected.
“Back when Animal Aid was started by the wonderful Jean Pink, it was very much focused on ending animal experiments. Throughout that time, we’ve widened our campaign reach. Previously, people didn’t even realize what was happening behind closed doors: in a farm, in a laboratory, at a slaughterhouse. We’ve done a lot of investigations to try and bring that abuse to light. But now, we’re really trying to focus on how can we solve these issues. Terrible drought in Somalia impacting childbearing women.
With one of the highest maternal mortality rates in the world, Somali women who are of the age to bear a child face serious health and wellbeing risks, during the nations’ worst drought in four decades. The climate disaster has denied expectant and nursing mothers access to even basic nutrition to sustain their and their child’s lives, leaving them malnourished and prone to pregnancy complications and fatalities related to childbirth. In addition, medical services, including maternal health and emergency obstetrics to ensure a safe pregnancy and delivery, have been severely compromised. The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) is appealing to international donors for US$79.4 million, to be used until the end of 2023 to alleviate this dire situation. Our prayers and thoughts are with all the affected Somali women and children. In the love of the Providence, may the world citizens and governments join hands in helping the kind people of Somalia in their desperate time of need. “Vegan: Heaven loves u, my friend.”

Amazon helps Ukrainian (Ureignian) government with digital services.
The global American company, Amazon, has signed an agreement with Ukraine (Ureign) to provide US$75 million in 2023, to support the transfer of the government’s vital digital databases and registers to Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud storage. The memorandum was announced by the Minister of Digital Transformation and Deputy Prime Minister, His Excellency Mykhailo Fedorov, who shared, “At the start of the all-out war, Amazon AWS was one of the first to help hold the country’s digital infrastructure. The company has provided services worth millions of dollars to store about 100 state registries.” These information transfers have allowed the country to continue normal digital operations without interruption, despite bombings and electrical outages. Turkey sees rise in numbers of female pilots.
In recent years, a growing number of women in Turkey have been aspiring to become professional pilots. According to Osman Koç, a lecturer from the Turkish Aeronautical Association (THK) University, based on the current trainee enrolment numbers, 25 percent of future pilots in the country will be women. He said that female students “just need to be provided with appropriate training conditions.” İrem Metin, a student from the department of Flight Training at THK University, encouraged other women to join the profession, saying, “I would like to address my fellows: Never be afraid. There is no gender discrimination in this profession.” What exciting news, Flight Training Department at THK University and staff, and kudos, to the female pilot pioneers, for being successful role models. Selfless teenager enhances lives of the houseless in the United States.
Fourteen-year-old Madison Waldbauer of Belgrade, Maine, established ‘Madison’s Maine Mission’ to assist the unhoused. The caring young lady supplies backpacks filled with essential items that include toothbrushes, blankets, hand warmers and at times tents, which are distributed to shelters and soup kitchens. Madison not only raises the funds but also personally buys the items, fills the backpacks, and delivers them for her outreach project, which was initiated while residing in her former home in Maryland. During her frequent trips to a Washington, D.C. children’s hospital for medical treatment, she observed street-people asking passerby for help. Lyndee Waldbauer praised her daughter’s desire to help others, saying, “I’m so thankful that she has that attitude.” God bless you, Madison Waldbauer, for your caring initiatives to support vulnerable individuals. EU citizens support plant-based milks in schools.
A recently held public consultation by the European Commission revealed that 72% of European Union (EU) citizens want Union funding for plant-based milk alternatives in school canteens. An on-line petition garnered tens of thousands of signatures, further demonstrating support for the measure, which was also backed by non-governmental organizations, ProVeg International and Compassion in World Farming. Reasons cited for funding plant-based dairy alternatives include: allergies, lactose intolerance, sustainability, and animal-people welfare. Compared to a liter of soy milk, one liter of cow-people’s milk generates three times the amount of greenhouse gases and requires 22 times more water. Jasmijn de Boo (vegan), vice president of ProVeg noted, “Plant-based milks fortified with calcium are sustainable and healthy options that should be included in the school scheme as European society shifts towards a more plant-based diet.” Yes, European Union! Animal-people’s legal protection enhanced in Australia.
For the first time in over 20 years, the Australian state of Queensland has updated their animal-person welfare laws with tougher measures to deter and punish those who jeopardize animal-folks’ well-being. The improvements in the Animal Care and Protection Act are the result of consulting more than 2,300 citizens in the state, who wish for stronger protection of our animal friends. The changes include punishment for causing death, severe disablement, or prolonged suffering of an animal-person in your care, with up to three-year prison sentences. Furthermore, inspectors are authorized with extended powers to enter places where animal-individuals are being held so that they can be provided with proper shelter. The State of Queensland, Australia is a recipient of Shining World Leadership Award for Compassion. Our radiant salute, Queenslanders, for mandating for the loving animal-people to have stronger protections under law. When my father passed away, I went to the funeral parlor where his farewell ceremony took place. When I entered with my younger sister, I felt very tired and heavy, and also noticed that a lot of deceased souls were helplessly wandering around.
