Our car, the Lightyear One, will be a statement car. You can drive on the power of the Sun. Lightyear One can constantly replenish its power using the Sun, and travel up to 800km (about 500 miles) on solar power alone, depending on the battery configuration. The car has an even longer range in sunny climates, going for days without charging when tested in such conditions. And the Lightyear One can power more than just its motors – it comes with a charging port just like a regular household power socket, and when parked, can be used to provide free solar electric power for household.
